ADA Compliance Scanner analyzes the webpage the user explicitly chooses to scan. The analysis runs locally in the user’s browser using the bundled axe-core library.
The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information, authentication information, browsing history, website content, or analytics with the developer or any third party.
When the user starts a scan, the extension temporarily reads the active page’s rendered content and accessibility properties solely to produce the requested accessibility report. Scan results may be stored temporarily in Chrome’s session storage so the user can reopen the popup without immediately rescanning. This session data remains on the user’s device.
The extension uses Chrome’s downloads capability only when the user selects “Export report.” The resulting JSON report is generated locally and saved to a location chosen through Chrome.
The extension does not send data to external services. axe-core is bundled inside the extension and runs locally.
The developer does not receive or retain user data. Temporary scan results stored by Chrome are cleared according to Chrome’s session-storage behavior and can also be removed by closing the browser session or uninstalling the extension.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Material changes to this policy will be published on this page and reflected in the extension’s Chrome Web Store disclosures.
