Cleanup: Large File Finder

Last updated September 16, 2026

Privacy policy

Cleanup: Large File Finder processes your files locally on your Mac. The app does not transmit files, folder names, scan results, or disk information to the developer. It has no advertising or analytics SDKs and requires no account.

Local information

Cleanup reads metadata such as names, sizes, modification dates, and locations for eligible files in folders you authorize. Scan results are held in memory until the app closes or a new scan starts.

The app stores your size filter and security-scoped folder bookmarks on your Mac. Bookmarks let it reopen selected folders. Choose Forget Folders to remove those bookmarks. macOS controls file permissions and may require you to select a folder again.

File removal

Files move to macOS Trash only after selection and confirmation. Cleanup does not empty Trash. Recover files by moving them from Finder’s Trash back to a folder. macOS manages Trash and permanent deletion.
